Test It Out Or Download Your Updates
After installing the FREE utility (see below) to import the data file to your GPS, you can first download a test database to make sure that everything is compatible with your GPS. Click "Download Test Database" in the section for your particluar system and save it into a directory that will only hold this CSV file for your GPS device. Do not open just save the file (if you open the file it may change the format of the file and then it will not install correctly) Then use the appropriate software to import it into your GPS. If this test file works you are ready to purchase the Kosher Restaurant GPS databases.
Download Database
Files are to be used "ONLY" for your personal use and cannot be posted to other Internet sites and cannot be shared with others. DO NOT DOWNLOAD IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THIS RESTRICTION.
Garmin Instructions
In order to install the databases into a Garmin device you will need the freely available POI LOADER. Check their website for Garmin devices that are compatible with their loader. If you don't have the manual for your device you can look online for help.This is a CSV text file which can be imported using their software.
Tom Tom Instructions
In order to install the databases into a TomTom device you will need to use TomTom's software that came with your device and is freely available from TomTom. Click here for more information.
To use this CSV file in TomTom you will need to first convert the file to an OV2 file. There is freely available software converter website to do this. Click here to convert the database.

Mio Instructions

MIO free POI LOADER software can be obtained through this link. Once on the website click on link on the left side of the page and then click on Downloads and then pick the device that you have http://www.mio-tech.be/en/index.htm
Magellan Instructions
In order to install my file into a Magellan device you will need to use Magellan POI Manager software that came with your device and is freely available from Magellan. For more information you can go to their website.
Check their website for Magellan devices that are compatible with their loader.
This is a CSV text file which can be imported using their software.
Other Devices
If you have a device that is not listed, download this database.
ANDROID PHONES
- Download CSV file from the Tom Tom box above.
- Open the CSV file, select all, and copy
- Open "http://garmin.gps-data-team.com/poi_manager.php" and paste content of file; Follow instructions and click on "Start POI Visualizer and Gencoder"
- In the next screen, click on covert to KML and save in a known location on your computer
- Go to http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl and login, click on MY MAPS, and click on create new map, give it a name, and import (probably erase the old one and give the new one the same name)
- Email yourself the new map by clicking on Collaborate
- Go to Android, open Gmail and find the email, and open the attachment with MAP (by default). Save the layer.
